don't worry about it. the membory is held by the kernel so it can be
used quickly. let linux manage your memory. This laptop has 256mb and
only one meg of 'real' memory free but I cam running several heavy
weight apps at once. This includes open office (two documents),
evolution, zend development environment, mozilla, vnc, X , Gnome 2.4 and
xmms before you start to look at the deamons running. No slowdown
whatso ever cos the processor 95% idle.
you can use top to see the processes that use most resources. they will
normally be ordered by cpu usage as this should show you the ones that
are slowing down your machine if things go wrong.
