Here here! Unlike ntpdate, ntpd should gradually adjust the date so as to keep 
it synchronised, rather than potentially causing big jumps forward or 
backward. Time should always run forward with ntpd, and Aq's "screensaver" 
problem shouldn't happen.

(note: I should really take Peter's/my own advice and get it working on my 
systems!)
