Well my installation of SuSE 9.1 Professional is keeping time, but then
I do run ntp on my server so my workstation is at stratum 4.

linux:~ # ntptrace
localhost: stratum 4, offset -0.049596, synch distance 0.185964
192.168.2.1: stratum 3, offset -0.013876, synch distance 0.185836
ns2.cableinet.co.uk: stratum 2, offset -0.001293, synch distance
0.208335
tock.usno.navy.mil: stratum 1, offset -0.000003, synch distance
0.000000, refid 'USNO'
