Just to clarify, can get into prompt now, just didn't know how  - boot was
going directly to GUI but stalling on error message, using ctrl alt f1 gives
me a prompt.

My actual problem is very similar to this one:

I have libpixbufloader-png.so and libpng12.s.0 on the system, they are
either corrupt or not found by the path?
