[Wolves] More about the Start Menu in Fedora

Further to my recent posts about changing the start menu on Fedora, I've 
done a bit more fiddling. If you right click on a launcher, one of the 
options is 'remove this item'. But when I select that, I get the report

    Cannot remove menu item applications:/filefolder/filename'

    Details: Unsupported operation

This happens even if I unlock the start menu button.

Anyone have any ideas?
