The reason people want mail trimming is to make mail
easy to read.  If I kept the whole of your message and
just added something at the top, or bottom, or if I
kept a couple of messages comments inside it would be
hard to read and follow.  

If you address your comments specifically to the text
you are responding to it makes things much easier and
we have less misunderstandings.
