Whats a super spec machine? I ran Unreal Tournament (99) and Quake 1 and 2
on PI - 200s 64 megs of ram. Tribes 1 was in that range, Tribes 2 was in
the 333 mhz range for
sure.
Even Tribes 2 is dated early 2001, when Ghz was 1.2 topend and the
Geoforce 1 was king.
Quake 3 is even from this time... I think the recent machines, plus high
end gfx cards gets over
400 Frames per second on Quake 3...
I can understand if its the real topend recent ones like UT2k4, NOLF2,
Far Cry, Deus Ex 2
etc.
But when some of the nice 3d shooters of recent years runs without a
hitch on a 800Mhz
machine with 128Meg of ram, it aint that far beyond a few of them...:)
