If she's eyeing a PAYG phone it's easy - the minutes expire after 30 
days.  With a contract it is a bit more tricky - the minutes are cheap, 
sure, and you get free time to any network and whatnot, but their 
customer service is the worst I have ever seen.

I have a Tale of Woe I could recount to her if you want... :)
