in the most low tech way possible.

A phone to phono type adapter to the mixing desk, an extension sitting 
on the floor so they could hear us and them coming out of the monitors 
very quietly so we could hear them.  I was very quiet for the interview 
because with my poor hearing I couldn't quite catch what was going on 
during the interview.

we didn't do anything high tech ;-)
