It really is great for very high volume mailing lists that receive a
large amounf of spam. So *.vger.kernel.org is a good example.

Some people seem to use them for a lot of things - but I like to
explicitly retain some control over my main messages and just use it as
a really cool and funky conversation threading thing for tracking long
drawn out pointless threads.
