First of all, I would suggest that you only try to do one thing at a
time, Forget about the DMZ and VPN until both the Netgears are working.

On the Netgear, under basic settings, Configure for no login, enable NAT
and configure the "Internet IP Address" to use a static IP Address and
set the IP Address to 192.168.1.3 IP Subnet Mask to 255.255.255.0 and
the Gateway IP to 192.168.1.1 Apply the settings.

Configure the zoom to an IP address of 192.168.1.1. On your workstation
try "ping 192.168.1.1" If this works, you are passing packets through
the netgear so then try "ping 216.239.59.99". If this works have
reached the internet (www.google.com) so try "ping www.google.com"

If this fails, then it would appear that the Netgear does not work with
a router, in spite of what the blurb says.
