I had this problem with MDK 9.2, it said this
everytime I installed a new package from the CDs and a
few other people reported this on this list at the
time. As this is a security warning, you could ignore
it if you wanted to (safely or not, I'm not sure -
depends how paranoid you are). The security experts
here will tell you that you should probably heed it.
If you wanted to you could go and download a new
binutils from Mandrake's ftp server and install it as
I think it's pretty important. Info on binutils at
http://sources.redhat.com/binutils/

Was this error during installation or afterwards?

Just get a new one from Mandrake's ftp site if in
doubt.
