hi all.

I need people to run the following script on debian based distro's. It
comes from a conversation with jono last night where he wished debian
based systems had a apple style updater. It's not quite an apple style
installer ;-) but it does tell you what things are available for update.

http://sp.arkes.co.uk/projects/gtk-apt-update/gtk-apt-update.py

It requires the following packages to be installed.

python2.3
python2.3-gtk2
apt-show-versions
apt-cache

and is run either as root or with sudo as it needs root privs to get the
details on packages.

Known bugs, it's pretty bloody useless just a treeview that doesn't
scroll or anything but is meant to be a starting point.

If you could all run it and confirm it shows the details of packages you
have installed with newer versions available in your sources. You might
need to apt-get update to see anything useful if you have upgraded today.

Jono, could you test it on your utbuntu powerbook, mine is in the middle
of a upgrade now

before anyone moans about it being gtk and not qt, it's gtk to fit in
with the default gnome desktop on debian and unbuntu systems.
