way off topic is our domain, this started as a list and ended up via 
dogs to etheral pets ;-)

I think the problem with EVP is the first person to make the claims was 
a crackpot who claimed to have Hitler saying 'we are not dead' and then 
appologising for the holocaust.  I personally think it's strange how 
'famous' spirits get to the front of any queue for physic phononomen 
;-)  If all the people who claimed to be cleopatra reincarnated jumped 
up at once the earth would move 1mm out of orbit you know ;-)

I personally think evp displays more of the human brains need to 
interpret shapes and sounds into understandable 'things' than spirits 
of our dearly departed but it's interesting to note that experiements 
in labs that lead to the sounds being recorded that are interpreted as 
voices on tapes are similar to conditions that lead to halusinations 
and phantom smells so many ghosts might be just electromagnetic pulses 
of a similar kind to we discussed earlier.

It's also wierd I was talking about my various experiences of ghostly 
things with my friend on the same day it cropped up here as well.
