Either day should be as good as the other. The reason for staying 
overnight is that there was (at least last year) a decent social aspect 
afterwards which surpassed the expo itself really.

If you've not been there before then you'll likely find it quite useful 
and interesting in itself anyway.

You can get there in a day if you wish, although it would be a 
relatively early start and late end.
