Hmm, well from the last generation of 'console wars', I think I'd take
the view of :
- Wait for the #1 and #2 to have a price war (there's only one in the
market at the moment, sony are a year away with the ps3?)
- Don't buy the microsoft version (you _will_ regret it in a few years
time if they dominate the home entertainment market) (Imagine a closed
PC which you _can't_ modify, do what you like with etc)
- Look seriously at the Nintendo offering (I wish I'd bought a GameCube).
From what I've read lately, I get the impression that the Gamecube had
the best graphics/playability, but wasn't marketed particuarly well.
From what I've read, the xbox 360 suffers from :
- instability
- dodgy power supply which overheats
- a deliberate policy by microsoft to create a short term shortage and
associated hype.
- requires an expensive HDTV upgrade to get the most from it's graphics
- isn't backwards compatible with the xbox, unless you get the more
expensive version which comes with hard disk etc.
David.
