Um, what am I looking for? I had this problem before under 9.1 but when I did 
an upgrade install to 9.2 sound worked this was of course on a different 
motherboard.

According to Windows the sound card is on board C-Media AC97 (defiantly 
C-Media not 100% with the AC97 bit (its not, I think, any of the C-Media 
listed in the known modules) when I first looked at the sound card settings 
they were correct, I think, but like a fool I changed them.

Now heres another thing, when I Installed 9.1 I had to do ACPI=off, again this 
was on the old board, I just thought I needed to do the same with the new 
board, gifted amateurs who needs them?
