What you're *supposed* to do here is use the school's internet 
connection, but...

...you can't always do that. And the school mentioned above is not alone 
in this, speaking as a bloke with a teacher for a wife. It is 
ridiculous. However, I think open-source can help here, because you 
don't need much in the way of budget to buy some old P200s and stick a 
minimal Linux distribution on them -- not sure about Firefox, but Dillo 
would work as a browser...
