I don't think any mass market webmail interface will be untraceable - 
they will keep logs, and these would eventually lead back to an end 
user's IP address. How much effort it takes to get these logs is a 
different matter (e.g. court orders etc).

Perhaps an easier (and more reliable approach is to not use a traceable 
IP to start with) - e.g. dialling up to uk2.net from a payphone where 
there are no surveillance cameras etc. Or if that seems like too much 
effort, find an open wireless access point.
