A medium to big size yes and a small no, ;-)
I don't want to bore everyone with all of the anomalies surfice to say I can
get the KDE desktop to load but no menus or icons, now I think (but may be
wrong) the cygwin screen size is too big. I cant seem to right click, I do
have some limited entry's in Windows start menu luckily one is xconsole (or
something like that) so I can start a console from the Windows start menu
then from that console get apps to start, like KMail from command prompt but
they are stuck in one place on the cygwin desktop.
On the other hand if I 'don't' do startx from the terminal thingy I get but
just type KMail then I get a pucker KMail on the Windows desktop which I can
move around blah blah blah, it cant send and recieve yet, I got some
connection error messages but I'll sort it out over a long period as cygwin
is not top priority.
Heres a laugh for everyone, after installing FC4 and still tweaking and
reloading stuff to get it how I like it I decided to hook my FC4 Laptop up to
my Suse PC, easy peasey I've done it loads of times;
BZZZZZ wrong, three b&*$£%dy days I've been at it!
Then very late last night the penny dropped, it ain't gonna work if the laptop
PCMCIA card and the PC network card both have the same IP address!!!!
Lesson one never get too big for your boots :-)
See my next post DHCP to see what I'm up to right now
I'm currently (right now) investigating the delights of DHCP
