I was amazed by the quality of the speakers and guests. Congratulations
to everyone who organsised the show and worked so amazingly hard to give
us a great community focused day. A day that saw my Debian mug
collection grow by one :) There really was something there for everyone,
much different from an Expo and much better for it.

Highlights included the Mass Debate, the rallying of the troops on
software patents, Mark's fluid movement from talking about space travel
to giving an interesting slant on the future of technology, then back
again as if they were the same subject. The GStreamer talk was
interesting talking about the future of the media framework, but patents
crept back in, showing how important the issue is to a wide variety of
key projects. Jonathan Riddell previewed very exciting stuff coming in
the future for KDE and although there is a shift toward gnome, KDE's
bloat and QT's toolkit is very important to the desktop market.** I felt
as if I should have brought Bill Thompson a drink for all the helpful
columns he writes for MSM (Mainstream Media) and the lunchtime news
surfer connecting the masses to open source.

Who could miss Adam in his very colourful suit! I await the podcast of
the show as I had to leave just after the intro. I will aim to make it
for the next LUG and will be there at the next LugRadio Live, cos
there's gonna be another one, right?

Cheers guys and well done :)
Lee
