Very true, Tim, but no business can afford to sit back and ignore a
growing potential market. IBM did this back in the begining days of
the PC. They allowed M$ to flourish - M$ were licensed by IBM to
start with to make the OS for IBM PCs, then they went alone. IBM
should have seen teh potential and we would not now have the massive
monopoly we all love ;-)
Though, to be honest, without Micro$oft would we be as far ahead in
computing as we are now? It's another thread so I'll stop that
thought here. Could be an interesting debate though.
