This is just what we needed to know. The fact you are getting the message:
"/lib/module/2.6.1.8.1-12mdk/modules.dep no such file"
show that the bootloader is confusing Mandrake and Kubuntu
The "mdk" part of the message refers to the Mandrake installation.
It may well be that you cannot have kubuntu and mandrake on the same
machine. Has anyone else ever tried this?
