Yes most definitely don't disable a fan - they're there for a purpose.
I've got a small fanless mini-itx system but it's only fanless because it uses
less power - hence is less powerfull ;~) Only 533 MHz although as far as I'm
aware the latest fanless mini-itx boards are about 800MHz. They can be
powered by a fanless external brick style power supply as well as the
processor not needing a fan.
