Sadly not. I just use the config file. The gnome
screen res app produces an error about not supporting
the XRandR extension and the runtime resolutions
changes are not available. It might be because I use
the ATI driver. You can do CTRL-ALT-(numkeypad + or -)
to switch between available resolutions.
