Na don't do that! suddenly you've become interesting.

OK, so I installed/Upgraded to 9.3 last night everything went fine except the
thing wont boot normally.
1. I get a minimal bash grub (if I'm lucky, sometimes I have to hit the
restart button a few times as I get *Grubstage2readerror* and it wont do
anything else) if I put;
grub> rootnoverify (hd0,0)
grub> chainloader +1
grub> boot
Then XP boots OK
2. If I put DVD1 in it wont "Boot from hard disk" but if I say install, select
my keyboard, I'm presented with some options I.e. Repair, Install Blah blah
blah and Boot, if I select "Boot" the thing fires up fine there is a fatal
error, it cant find some stupid module, but it doesn't affect anything as far
as I can see.
3. Following the 2. scenario if I select repair this seemed to clear up a
supposed problem with reading /dev/hdd (I don't think thats connected with
the boot problem) when it gets to the "Check Boot Loader" bit it says there
is a problem and to "Contact the User" very helpful. I have tried all the
options for changing this part of the set up it pretends to sort it out gets
as far as "Saving changes" and sits at 50% done and moves no further so it
never gets to the "Install Boot Loader" bit.
I tried fdisk mbr/ but I don't think it had any effect I tried upgrading Grub
but still no effect I was thinking of un-installing grub then re-installing
but if that don't work I might lose the only way I have of accessing XP
(apart from the XP installation disc of course).
