Ha, I like that... though is Slackware really rubbish?  Not having
ever tried it I can't personally comment.

Ok, the answer is...... the number 42

Way, way back in May 1996 SuSE released its first well release.  The
ones prior to that were not SuSE before somebody starts yelling :-) 
They deliberately named it 4.2 in reference to The Hitchhiker's Guide
To The Galaxy.
