use the md5sum command....

89c5c77a42acedb6a756e7d2dc779309  smtp.log

If the output matches the websites sum then you can be sure the file is

a) the same file that was posted and not a modified file (unless
$CRACKER modified the MD5SUM file as well :) )

b) not corrupted on download
