You're welcome. Out of interest which distro are you using?

We are migrating this office from Debian to SUSE and SUSE10 is a lot
lot slower in resolving names from the AD. Shame - I don't know what
the difference is.

Also - make sure you set winbind to start on boot from init.d - my
first 'D'oh' of the morning :)
