It was the variations rather than the specific application, at the moment, 
Mambo is open source I don't think I said Mambo was Linux I might have lost 
me hair but the brain still functions :)

I'm not that interested in the wheres or why for's its the so called choice 
thats worrying, I know we've had this discussion before but this time its 
closer to home.

Do I stay with Mambo putting months maybe a couple of years effort into it 
only to find it chucked on the compost heap by the developers? and how do you 
know you've made the right choice? Linux/open source is a hobby to me but 
like most hobbies it needs to have a goal I prefer to stick with two 
Distributions and set applications, but have I picked the right ones?

Wouldn't it be better if all these hacked off team members went to work on 
Open office and made it really fast?

I'm off to find out how many versions of 'word' there is out there
