[Wolves] tools to get video from camera

Hello all,

I'm very happy today as my new cam-corder arrived. Its a mini-dv type.

It's great to use and nice and small. However, it didn'r come with a lead, so 
i searched for a firewire 6 pin to 4 pin. Its arriving next week.

What software do I use to actually get the footage from the camera?
I will use avidemux to edit with.
