My mother lives in the middle of near-enough-nowhere, and now has
working ADSL - much to my utter surprise (512downstream etc).
Considering there must be a fair length of cable (~4miles), which
is stretched/abused on an annual basis by trees, young drivers (crashign
into the poles) and the like. (It is a really crap line to use for dial up)
Needless to say.. I'm surprised you appear to have problems.
(I can understand the problem of getting more than 512k downstream, but
ADSL itself _ought_ to work ok)
