I guess you can define "virtual" in different ways. eth1 and eth0 are
virtual in that you can take the interface eth0 and assign it to
either physical card by configuring your modules.conf. So eth* can
point to different physical devices

lo is virtual in the fact that it really isn't a physical network card
at all. It is just a software network card that supports network
enabled applications.
