In principle it's fine as long as Smoothwall has wireless networking
utilities, kernel modules etc.

I would make sure that the interface is either assigned as a RED
(External) or ORANGE (DMZ) interface. If you assign it as a internal
interface you won't be able to implement much packet filtering between
your wireless and wired network.
