[Wolves] Basic programming language for linux

I'm interested in giving Python a go. Any good guides for the eedjit*
on the Web anyone can recommend?

*eedjit: someone who attempted to do something with Spectrum Basic and
Z80 assembler twenty years ago and has done nowt in the way of
programming since.
