[Wolves] Wifi causes hard lockups - any ideas?

I have a Dell Inspiron 6000 with an Intel PRO 2200BG wireless card
running Ubuntu Breezy.

All is well with the install, very happy with the machine, except that
if the wifi is used to download larger files (say, >=2Mb) it causes a
hard lockup of the entire machine & I have no alternative but to
switch off.

I could ask for any ideas about how to solve this one, but I think the
more appealing solution to me is to work out for myself what is going
on.

So my question is: how do I find out what the problem might be? I
confess, I'm clueless about how to do this. I normally consult the
forums or Google for answers, but I have drawn a blank. Nor can I
find a "how to solve inexplicable problems in Linux", which is what I
really want here. (Memtest reveals the RAM is good, btw.)

Thanks in advance,

Paul
