I wish you a Happy and Prosperous New Year on behalf of the BCS 
Birmingham Branch Committee.

I am please to send you a reminder of our first meeting for 2006 on 
Wednesday 11 January when Dr Bin Hu of the University of Central England 
will be speaking to us on "Location based mobile information services". 
More details are given below.

For the benefit of those of you who have joined the Birmingham Branch 
since we sent out our Programme Card in September 2005 our meetings 
programme for the first half of 2006 is listed below.  There is also 
information on other local events in which you may be interested.

                         MEETINGS PROGRAMME 2006

Visitors are welcome at all our meetings and a free buffet is available 
before all evening meetings, which normally start at 6.30pm with 
refreshments available from 6pm.

There is no charge for attendance at our evening events.

All our meetings are assessed for Continuing Professional Development as 
"attendance only" at the rate of 0.5 CPD Units per hour.  Attendance 
certificates are now available at each meeting worth 0.5 CPD Units.
