Yes. Irrespective of whether believe in one way or the other, the
recent argumentative discussion has become unacceptable so stop it
now. I am not targetting this at anyone in particular - just anyone
who has become argumentative and emotive in this thread. Just calm
down. Also, just because you have been in the LUG a long time, or just
because you have contributed hardware, or just because you have a
beard, or just because you have a gammy leg doesn't make your opinion
elevated over anyone elses - this is a community.

Listen, there is never going to be a perfect solution for everyone,
thats life. the reality is that the most active members of the LUG do
the work and push forward and make decisions. Sometimes those
decisions won't be liked by everyone, but thats life. This LUG
embodies a collection of personalities, each with a different way of
approaching meetings. The majority of people seem to want a social pub
based LUG, and that is what is happening. It would be nice if we had
talks, but unless someone actually steps up and volunteers, it ain't
gonna happen.

What I find interesting is that the dominant personalities in this
thread have been those who rarely come to meetings - Peter, Fizzy,
Re-load, Kevan - I think you should all come to meetings more often
and help mesh the LUG into what you want. Again, this is a community,
and we need to pull together. Leadership is not one person doing all
the work, leadership is taking a stand and making a decision, exactly
what Peter Oliver has done.
