part of me thinks its a bit of a shame it would have been far better for SCO to lose the IBM case with a ruling that Linux didn't infringe the unix code, settle the issue once and for all. Although the iminent collapse and backruptcy of SCO (think of all that money they now owe to Novell...) should give pause for thought to anyone else who wants to claim ownership of Linux.

I guess the big question is what does Novell do with the copyrights now, Microsoft, Sun, IBM and possibly HP have an interst in owning them, if only for self defence.

Presumably now Novell can allow the FSF to use the UNIX trademark and they'll have to change it to GIU Is UNIX :)
