I'm still waiting for some clever person to hack Kmail into a portable
version which I can run off my USB drive along with the other
PortableApps for the time being I'll have to stick with
PortableThunderbird.

I hate Evolution, can just about suffer Thunderbird, so I fancied
something new on the Linux Mint I just typed email in synaptic and
there it was! As I've said a million times before to everyone "Debian
has waaaayy more stuff in its repos" :-P

Arch Linux is an independent i686-optimized community distribution for
intermediate and advanced Linux users. Utilising a Rolling Release
System packages are regularly updated and an ISO release is just a
snapshot to the stable packages at that time. So there's no need for a
fresh install the command 'pacman –Syu' upgrades the whole system.
