I'm only relaying what I have read but the beauty of Rockbox is that
you don't 'lose' the Apple GUI for good.  You can put it back :-)  If
you really wanted to... I suppose if you were upgrading you may wish
to do this in order to sell the iPod.

Don't take it to the tip recycle it via the Freecycle(r) Network.
