Salary: £41,859 - £44,898 (pay award pending) 	
		
	
The main purpose of this post will be:	

*	responsibility for providing overall architecture and security management for IT provision at Walsall to ensure that the information needs of the Council are met 
*	to be accountable for establishing and maintaining the integrity of the overall Walsall IT architecture and preventing technical/logical conflict between development activities 
*	to be accountable for the security and integrity of all Walsall information held in electronic systems and planning and implementing processes and procedures for the management of operational risk 
*	to build knowledge within ICT of external strategic developments and ensure that this is reflected in the strategy and development activities 
*	to provide expert coaching/guidance to the other staff with security, architecture and data responsibilities and oversee their work 
*	to attend committees, sub-committees, panels and other such meetings of the Council as required and to implement decisions reached by the Council 

Experience of working within an IT technical design, strategy and IT management with an exposure to ITIL and BS7799 standards is essential to this key post
