Been there... done simething similar to that.
Don't remember the specific steps, but I think my solution involved
using a statically linked rpm from an OS installation CD and/or CPIO to
extract the contents of the rpm package and move them into the correct
position on the filesystem. Used ldd to confirm that all necessary
libraries were present, then extracted them from their packages by hand
in likewise manner.
