swapfile messing up the installation then am i?
Thankfully, i had a 7.10 disc lying around (who doesn't?).

Seems strange how such a major issue should be present, even in the 
final release.
OK so the workaround isn't exactly complicated, but if you skipped past 
it, then you're going to be pretty boned unless you have an older 
release or other distro you could install in the meantime.
