[Wolves] Problems with Geubuntu LiveCD

I'm having a couple of problems with a Geubuntu 7.10 LiveCD i recently burned.
Boots fine, then i pres "Install or start Ubuntu", it loads the kernel, then a message says this is not an 8139C+ compatible chip
Then, it says "They using the 8139too" driver instead, and then i get 4 or 5 Buffer I/O errors, fd0 on logical block 0

I'm not a linux master by far (barely even apprentice, if you will), so i'd like to know what is going on there?

I MD5'd the iso, all clear, made sure to burn it at a low speed (i got the same error with the same image earlier, burning at higher speed.. oh well, new coaster anyone?), so i can't see it being any problem with the disc.
But when i check the CD for defects, a few pop up, including the MD5? What's going on there as well?

By the way.. Hi. New here, should be nice to talk to you all about Linux And Wolverhampton.. not the most likely combination of words in a sentence, i'm sure.
