You won't need /home and you'll only need swap if you're short on RAM
for running the live CD.

Before you modify anything on your hard disk, make a copy of it (cp file
file.bak to make a copy and cp file.bak file to put it back) so if
anything goes wrong, at least you can put it back how it was before you
started and you can try again with a clean slate.
