[Wolves] Bad 'trimming .WAVs' Karma

I'm trying to make a 'mix CD' from my own CDs. One of the tracks I want
is a 'secret' last track, so the actual last track has a huge silence in
the middle. In the past I think I've done this with Audacity by cutting
what I don't want away then exporting as a WAV. After installing
Audacity from the standard repos of Ubuntu Karmic, I don't have the
export feature. Is there another simple way of editing .WAVs on Karmic
or is Audacity easily fixed? Google made it sound too hand-cranked for
my liking. Ardour has appeared on my radar. I'm not interested in
compiling Audacity from sources. I've got Win XP and OS X I can use if
I really have to, though this would be quite depressing.
