Don't worry - despite the best efforts of the BBC, they're not about
to ditch FM for an inferior DAB :-)
The new iPlayer streams are already at a higher bitrate than DAB will
ever achieve and other countries are looking at either DAB+ (aac)
alongside FM or - notably in the case of Germany - preparing to
ditch DAB entirely.
DVB-T, 4G & Internet radio all hold great potential, but DAB is
going nowhere, and the higher quality, more environmentally-friendly
FM - with its 100million+ installed sets - will be around for
a few more years yet ;-)
