[Wolves] Best way to remote manage a ubuntu system

sounds like there going to be a flame war over empathy.
i am going too have a go with it and try to get remote access to my
sister ubuntu machine in exmouth from my house in redditch.
can i use empathy too control a windows 2000 from my unbuntu 9.04
machine as well?
