They adopted a new DRM trick that made it more difficult, and that is
why get_iplayer was retired. The official BBC client, which is written
in Adobe AIR and enforces the 7-days-to-watch window still works. If
you're on i386 (32 bit) then you should be able to install the
official client by clicking the download link beneath any iPlayer
episode.
